Dental Implants in Maple Ridge
At Kanaka Creek Family Dental, we provide dental implants as the gold standard solution for replacing missing teeth — permanently, comfortably, and with results that look and feel completely natural.
Missing teeth affect far more than your smile. Without a replacement root, the jawbone beneath the gap begins to deteriorate, neighbouring teeth can shift out of alignment, and everyday activities like chewing and speaking become more difficult over time. Dental implants solve all of these problems by replacing the entire tooth structure — from root to crown.
A dental implant is a small titanium post that is surgically placed into the jawbone, where it fuses with the bone through a process called osseointegration. Once healed, it acts as a permanent anchor for a custom-made crown, bridge, or even a full set of dentures. The result is a restoration that is stable, long-lasting, and virtually indistinguishable from your natural teeth.
Our Maple Ridge dental office is equipped with advanced technology including CBCT 3D imaging for precise implant planning, Primescan digital impressions for accurate restorations, and an in-house 3D printer and CEREC milling system so we can fabricate components right here in our clinic.
Implant Solutions for Every Situation
Whether you're missing a single tooth or an entire arch, dental implants can be tailored to your needs:
- Single Tooth Implant — One implant topped with a custom ceramic crown replaces an individual missing tooth without affecting the teeth on either side. Unlike a traditional bridge, no healthy teeth need to be filed down.
- Implant-Supported Bridge — When two or more adjacent teeth are missing, we can place two implants and attach a bridge between them, avoiding the need for a removable partial denture.
- Implant-Supported Dentures — For patients missing most or all of their teeth, as few as 4 to 6 implants can anchor a full denture that snaps securely into place — no adhesives, no slipping.
- All-on-4 Dental Implants — A full arch of fixed, non-removable teeth supported by just four strategically placed implants. Often completed in a single day.
During your consultation, our dentists will evaluate your oral health, review 3D imaging of your jawbone, and recommend the implant solution that best fits your goals and budget.

Dental Implant FAQs
- How much do dental implants cost in Maple Ridge?
The cost of dental implants varies depending on the number of implants, whether bone grafting is needed, and the type of restoration (crown, bridge, or denture). A single implant with a crown typically ranges from $3,000 to $6,000. During your consultation, we'll provide a detailed treatment plan with transparent pricing. We also offer flexible payment plans to help make treatment affordable.
- What is the dental implant process like?
The process begins with a thorough evaluation including CBCT 3D imaging to assess your jawbone. If you're a good candidate, we surgically place the titanium implant post into the jaw. Over the next 3 to 6 months, the implant fuses with the bone through osseointegration. Once healed, we attach a custom abutment and crown. For some patients, we can place a temporary restoration the same day as surgery so you never go without a tooth.
- How long do dental implants last?
With proper care, the implant post itself can last a lifetime. The crown or restoration on top may need replacement after 10 to 15 years due to normal wear, but the implant root remains permanently integrated in the bone. Regular brushing, flossing, and dental checkups are key to long-term success.
- Does the dental implant procedure hurt?
Most patients are surprised by how comfortable implant surgery is. We use local anesthesia to fully numb the area, and sedation options are available for patients who feel anxious. Many patients compare the discomfort to having a tooth extracted — manageable with over-the-counter pain medication for a few days after the procedure.
- Am I a good candidate for dental implants?
Most adults with good general health are candidates for dental implants. The key requirement is having enough healthy jawbone to support the implant. If bone loss has occurred, we may recommend bone grafting to rebuild the area before implant placement. Conditions like uncontrolled diabetes or heavy smoking can affect healing, so we'll review your full medical history during your consultation.
- What is bone grafting and do I need it?
Bone grafting is a procedure that rebuilds jawbone in areas where it has been lost due to tooth extraction, gum disease, or prolonged tooth loss. The graft provides a solid foundation for the implant to integrate with. Not every patient needs bone grafting — our CBCT 3D imaging allows us to precisely assess your bone volume and determine if grafting is necessary before we begin.
- Does dental insurance cover implants?
Coverage varies by plan. Some insurance plans cover portions of implant treatment — for example, the crown but not the surgical placement. Our team will review your benefits and help you understand what's covered. We also offer payment plans to help bridge any gap between your insurance coverage and the total cost.
- What is the difference between implants and dentures?
Traditional dentures sit on top of the gums and are removable, which means they can slip, require adhesive, and don't prevent bone loss. Dental implants are anchored directly in the jawbone, providing permanent stability, preserving bone health, and functioning just like natural teeth. We also offer implant-supported dentures and All-on-4 solutions that combine the coverage of dentures with the stability of implants.
Why Choose Dental Implants?
Prevent Jawbone Loss
When a tooth is lost, the bone beneath it begins to resorb. Implants are the only tooth replacement that stimulates the jawbone and prevents this deterioration, maintaining your facial structure and preventing the sunken look that often comes with missing teeth.
Protect Your Remaining Teeth
Unlike bridges, implants don't require grinding down healthy adjacent teeth for support. Each implant stands on its own, preserving the integrity of your natural teeth.
Eat and Speak With Confidence
Implants are anchored in bone, so they won't shift or slip like removable dentures. You can eat your favourite foods, speak clearly, and laugh without worry.
A Lifetime Investment
While the upfront cost is higher than other options, implants can last decades — often a lifetime — making them the most cost-effective long-term solution for missing teeth.
The Dental Implant Process
Step 1: Consultation & 3D Imaging
We begin with a comprehensive exam and CBCT 3D scan to assess your jawbone density, nerve locations, and sinus proximity. This allows us to plan the precise angle and depth of each implant for the best possible outcome.
Step 2: Treatment Planning
Using your 3D imaging, we create a detailed surgical plan. If bone grafting is needed, we'll complete that first and allow time for healing before implant placement.
Step 3: Implant Placement
The titanium implant post is placed into the jawbone under local anesthesia. The procedure typically takes 30 to 60 minutes per implant. In many cases, we can place a temporary crown the same day so you leave with a tooth.
Step 4: Healing & Osseointegration
Over the next 3 to 6 months, the implant fuses with your jawbone, creating a rock-solid foundation. During this time, you'll have a temporary restoration so your smile stays complete.
Step 5: Final Restoration
Once fully healed, we use our Primescan digital scanner to take a precise impression, then design and fabricate your permanent crown using our in-house CEREC milling system. The final crown is colour-matched to your natural teeth for a seamless result.
All-on-4 Implants
A full arch of permanent, non-removable teeth supported by just four implants — often placed in a single appointment. Ideal for patients with extensive tooth loss.
Same-Day Crowns
Our CEREC Primescan and PrimeMill system lets us design, mill, and place your permanent implant crown in a single visit — no temporary crowns, no second appointment.
Full Mouth Restoration
For patients who need comprehensive rebuilding, we combine implants with crowns, bridges, and other restorations to rebuild your entire smile from the ground up.
