All-on-4 Dental Implants in Maple Ridge

All-on-4 Dental Implants in Maple Ridge

Missing most or all of your teeth? All-on-4 dental implants provide a full arch of permanent, natural-looking teeth — supported by just four strategically placed implants — often in a single day.

The All-on-4 concept is one of the most significant advances in implant dentistry. Rather than placing 6 to 8 individual implants to support a full set of teeth, the All-on-4 technique uses just four implants per arch, with the two back implants angled at 45 degrees to maximize contact with available bone. This means many patients who have been told they don't have enough bone for traditional implants can still qualify — often without the need for bone grafting.

At Kanaka Creek Family Dental, we use CBCT 3D imaging to precisely plan each implant position, our Primescan digital scanner for accurate impressions, and our in-house 3D printer and CEREC milling system to fabricate components — giving you a streamlined, efficient treatment experience right here in Maple Ridge.

How All-on-4 Works

The All-on-4 treatment concept uses four dental implants to support an entire arch of fixed teeth. Two implants are placed vertically in the front of the jaw, and two are placed at an angle in the back. The angled placement serves two purposes: it increases contact with the bone for better stability, and it often eliminates the need for bone grafting — even in patients with moderate bone loss.

A custom-designed prosthetic arch is then attached to the implants. Unlike removable dentures, this restoration is permanently fixed in place. You brush it like natural teeth, eat whatever you want, and never need adhesives or worry about it slipping.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

All-on-4 may be right for you if:

  • You are missing all or most of your teeth in one or both arches
  • You currently wear dentures and are frustrated with the fit, comfort, or limitations
  • You've been told you don't have enough bone for traditional implants
  • You want a permanent, fixed solution rather than a removable one
  • You want to restore your ability to eat, speak, and smile with full confidence

Our dentists will evaluate your bone structure with 3D imaging to determine if All-on-4 is the best option for your situation.

All-on-4 FAQs

  • How much do All-on-4 dental implants cost?

All-on-4 treatment for a single arch typically ranges from $20,000 to $30,000, depending on the complexity of your case and the materials used. While this is a significant investment, it replaces the ongoing costs of denture adhesives, relines, replacements, and the hidden costs of bone loss that comes with traditional dentures. We offer payment plans to make treatment more accessible.

  • Can I get All-on-4 if I have bone loss?

Yes — this is one of the biggest advantages of All-on-4. The angled placement of the back implants maximizes the use of available bone, which means many patients with moderate bone loss can receive All-on-4 implants without needing bone grafting first. Our CBCT 3D imaging allows us to assess your bone precisely and determine the best approach.

  • How long does the All-on-4 procedure take?

The surgical appointment typically takes 2 to 3 hours per arch. In many cases, a temporary set of fixed teeth is placed the same day, so you walk out with a complete smile. After a healing period of 3 to 6 months, your permanent prosthesis is fabricated and attached.

  • What is the difference between All-on-4 and dentures?

Traditional dentures rest on the gums and are removable. They can slip, require adhesive, restrict what you eat, and accelerate bone loss because they don't stimulate the jawbone. All-on-4 implants are permanently fixed in the jaw, function like natural teeth, preserve bone health, and let you eat, speak, and smile without any of the limitations of dentures.

  • How long do All-on-4 implants last?

The implant posts themselves can last a lifetime with proper care. The prosthetic arch typically lasts 15 to 20 years or more before it may need to be replaced due to normal wear. Regular dental checkups and good oral hygiene are essential for long-term success.

  • Will I have teeth the same day as surgery?

In most cases, yes. We place a temporary fixed prosthesis on the day of surgery so you leave our office with a full set of functional teeth. This temporary stays in place during the healing period. Once your implants have fully integrated with the bone, we replace it with your final, permanent prosthesis.

  • Does insurance cover All-on-4 dental implants?

Most insurance plans do not cover the full cost of All-on-4 treatment, but some may cover portions such as extractions, the consultation, or imaging. Our team will review your benefits with you and help maximize your coverage. We also offer flexible payment plans.

The All-on-4 Treatment Process

Step 1: Consultation & 3D Planning
We begin with a comprehensive exam, digital X-rays, and a CBCT 3D scan. This detailed imaging allows us to evaluate your bone density, map nerve locations, and plan the precise position and angle of each implant using computer-guided surgery planning.

Step 2: Extractions & Implant Placement
On the day of surgery, any remaining teeth that need removal are extracted. Four implants are then placed — two vertically in the front and two at an angle in the back of the jaw. The angled implants grip into denser bone for immediate stability.

Step 3: Same-Day Temporary Teeth
A temporary fixed prosthesis is attached to the implants the same day. You leave our office with a full set of functional, natural-looking teeth. You can eat soft foods that evening.

Step 4: Healing Period
Over the next 3 to 6 months, the implants undergo osseointegration — fusing permanently with the jawbone. During this time, you'll follow a graduated diet and attend follow-up visits so we can monitor your progress.

Step 5: Final Permanent Prosthesis
Once fully healed, we take precise digital impressions and fabricate your final prosthesis — a strong, beautiful set of teeth custom-designed for your bite, facial structure, and smile goals. This permanent arch is screwed securely onto the implants.
